Story:

Shiva, Shankar, Munna and Chinna are four friends who board a train to go to Samarlakota from Hyderabad. They become friends to Bala Tripura Sundari (Saloni) who is also on the same train. Kalidasu (Shafi) who is a psychopath too board the same train and he tries to rape Sundari. All the four friends react and he beats them to pulp. After sometime they attack him and kill him.police arrests the four friends and Sundari says that she has killed Kalidasu. What happens next is the conclusion of the film.

Analysis:

Director Raja Vannemreddy said that this film has a unique storyline. But there is nothing novel about this film. It is an age old script with nothing to rave about. First half of the film is utterly boring with literally nothing happening. Story starts in the second hour and it goes on in a predictable path.

There are few heart touching scenes in the second hour but they are very far apart. Telugu Ammayi is about the problems that women face in everyday life. This point may appeal to ladies and we have to wait and see how they react to it.

As a film it is too boring and it will be a daunting task to sit through it.

Performances:

Saloni is good in the lead role. Her expressive eyes and beautiful smile will stay with you. Shafi did a terrific job as the bad man. He remained with single expression for a very long time as a dead man. The four friends performance is very bad. Sai Kumar did a cameo and is fine. Comedians tried to evoke laughs but sadly couldn’t.

Technicalities:

Dialogues are good in parts. The film is technically okay and up to the standards for its budget. Director Raja Vannemreddy’s woes continue with this film. He is yet to register second hit after debuting with Kshemanga Velli Labhamga Randi. Telugu Ammayi will end up as another disappointment for him.

Final Word: 

Telugu Ammayi is more of a Tv serial than a feature film.
