Story:

Vikram & Jagapathibabu’s Sivathandavam Movie –Vikram is an officer. He will lose his vision in a bomb explosion. Jagapati Babu helping Vikram in carrying out the operations and accomplishing them successfully. These particular tasks would be assigned to them by the governments.
Amy Jackson-a British born Indian girl. Amy Jackson’s father is a doctor .He will conduct autopsy of a person murdered by Vikram. The investigation would be carried out by special officer Nasser. Vikram also meets an eye doctor Anushka. What happens to Vikram next… what’s the role of Jagapati Babu will form the remaining story. You will find in theatres.

Performance:

As the title suggests the hero himself has done the Siva Thandavam by taking the entire responsibility of the film on his shoulders. He has given a splendid performance both as a RAW officer and a visually-challenged person. Anushka has filled the glamour slot well and has also done a good job. In fact, Jagapathi Babu’s role is also as important as the hero.
So, this film could be treated as a multi-character film. Lakshmi Rai and Amy Jackson are in cameo roles and they have played key characters in the film. Santhanam is sure to tickle your funny bones. His comedy coupled with Vikram’s comedy is perfect. Nazar and others have also done justice to their respective roles.

Technical:

Nirav Sha’s camerawork is excellent and his picturisation in beautiful locales in London is superb.Music and background scores composed by GV Prakash Kumar are one of the highlights of the movie, siva thandavam especially the tracks  are topping the charts. Art formations in the Uyire Uyire song need special mention and the cinematography by Nirav shah is as usual..
Director Vijay has chosen a beautiful subject, which is different from regular masala entertainers. The movie has several dragging moments, but viewers may not be able to feel them as they will be carried away by the different twists and turns in the film.Action sequences by Manohar Verma are good especially fights done by blind Vikram when he is attacked by six foreigners in a London park is awesome. Editing works by Anthony could have brought better results for the movie, as there is slow rapidity.

Plus Points:

Vikram’s Performance
Love Chemistry between Vikram and Anushka
GV Prakash Music
Nirav shah’s camera work is eye-catching
Santhanam's appearance

Minus Points:

Predictable Second Half
Slow narration
Too Many Logical Loop Holes
Editor's scissors could have been more sharp cutting the length of the movie.
Marriage sequences lacks creativeness.
Missing of logic at few sequences fails to hook the audience.
Usage of English in most of the frames fails to capture the attention of B & C grade audience.

Analysis :

Siva Thandavam starts off on a slower note and the characterization of the actors will be revealed scene by scene. Director Vijay has well etched the first half with the suspense and twists in the story and characterizations. Especially, the love chemistry between Vikram and Anushka has been well executed.  Entire movie rests on the shoulders of Vikram and his character will appear in almost every scene.
Though the first half of the movie is gripping, story falls flat in the second half. After a while, the story becomes very predictable. Especially  a friend turning into foe type of plot has been shown in many films already. After knowing about the twist, audience will start losing interest in the film.

Final Word:

Siva Tandavam is just an attempt to showcase the talent of Vikram and director Vijay did his best to entertain the audiences.Barring few ups and downs with the pace of the movie, siva thandavam makes a decent watch.it is another effort of Vikram to showcase his talent in a different subject. The film is worth watching at least for one time.
