Story:

Sat Fernandez (Aravind Swamy) and Bergmans (Arjun) participate in training sessions Christian seminary for the priesthood. However, with a difference in a fight, both separates and choose different paths and years after, Sam tuning out to be a Father of the Church and Bergman ends as criminal millionaire. Sat becomes the guardian of an orphan Thomas (Gautham Karthik) who will in love Beatrice (Thulasi Nair), daughter of Bergmans. The rest of the story is the crucial point.

Performance:

Gautham Karthik looks promising and it shows loads of energy with a convincing performance and impressive. He danced and chemistry with Thulasi Nair was good. Despite his characterization not so great in the film, he points out his performance of his efforts.
Thulasi Nair looked good, but it has very little margin for performance. It is impressive and the sequences featuring the song came out well.
Aravind Swamy Arjun and had a good amount of roles in the film and their performances are brilliant. The actors did their roles with such ease. Thambi Ramiah is convincing, Lakshmi Manchu is short.


Technical Analysis:

As each film Mani Ratnam, is also a film Kadal technically sound. Rajiv Menon film is absolutely gorgeous and as an asset for the film. The beaches and the sea are brilliantly captured while the songs picturisation Elay Keechaan, Yaadike, Moongil thottam is a big watch. AR Rahman musical scores are pleasant while the background score is impressive. SREEKAR mounting Prasad is brisk while the art direction is good.

Analysis:

Be the ace film director Mani Ratnam, Kadal is surrounded by huge expectations. Instead Kadal my fail your expectations if you expect to see the movie on the beach in the Roya, Nayagan, Thalapathi, Bombay, Geethanjali et al. Kadal it’s all good vs. evil battle and the central characters are tried by Aravind Swamy Arjun and. In fact, the two leading stars has more screentime and importance debutant actors, where the love story is woven between the two leading characters of Sam and Bergman in the background of the sea
The first hour of the film is excellent and Thomas characterization that innocent child was heartbreaking, but as the story progresses Mani showed the struggle between good and evil. The story moves at a very slow pace and it is only in the second half of the love story takes off. Aravind Swamy tried to remove the film in the first half, but the characterization lacks the depth required and it is not convincing enough. While the story holds your interest at times slow and slope scenario often tested your patience.
